It wasn't a common occurrence.
It wasn't something he should be proud of, even though there was a sense of accomplishment that made him stand a little taller every time the memory hit him. But how could he fight it? The whole realm looked at Asgard's crown prince and desired him in way one or the other. Odin's first born embodied everything men wanted to be or possess, maybe both.
And Loki was no different.
It had started innocently enough, with playful, at times inebriated games. The perfect excuse for them to have their hands all over each other. Sometimes they would talk with playful nostalgia about the days when Loki was about the size of the horns on his helmet, back when thunders and storms frightened him and there was few places that felt as safe as Thor's bed.
The teasing got on his nerves, but his brother's loving touch and an open invitation to slip into his bed, for old times sake, made things more than just bearable. Oh, how he despised him at times. So cocky, so quick to make his little brother's heart skip a beat ever so painfully. He adored Thor, like everyone else. He loved him like their parents did , as if the sun only shone on him and nobody else. It was almost worth it. He loved him, perhaps even more, painfully so.
Unnable to sleep most of the night, still covered in sweat as a reminder of how his brother had giving him a fraction of the love he spread among maids all over the Nine Realms, Loki shifted under the shared furs. His brother and future king slept ever so peacefully and for a few more hours he would remain Loki's and nobody else's.
Lightly touching every muscle and stealing soft kisses, Loki fought to remain awake. But eventually sleep always caught up with him, time would steal his brother away.
He had no idea of how time was planning to bring Thor back to him. He had no idea of which Thor he would be waking up next to.
